This song was inspired by Banquet from Bloc Party, which had two guitars playing on the alternating beats. I used this idea for the intro of Troll Mountain, by letting the bass play the first half of each beat, and the lead the second half. This was also the first song that I used swing on, and I love the vibe it creates. I also figured out that with swing, it was possible to approximate triplets and I used this technique quite a lot in the song. During the final battle with the Troll King, that triplet time feel is lost and the beat punches extra hard. The final trick I used was to let the first and last patterns be the same, so I could extend the song past the 128 sequence limit.
